Jenni-Mae Clissold
Jenni-Mae Clissold's Profile
I, Jenni-Mae Clissold, was born in Subiaco WA 1974; I moved to Sydney with my family in 1984 and attended school at Windsor, completing my HSC at Windsor High School in 1992. After moving to the city and years of saying that I would never return to the Hawkesbury I ended up buying a place at Lower Macdonald with my husband and became involved with the Ferry Artists. I fell in love with the Forgotten Valley. With the encouragement, support and tutoring through workshops with the Ferry Artists I rediscovered my love of colour and the creative process.
I now work mostly in oil and wax. I have been painting with this medium for 2 years, before this I dabbled a bit with water colour but was always searching for something else. Thanks to a workshop with Audrey Rhoda, my friends took me along to; I discovered the vibrant and tactile art of wax and oil paints. I love the layering of paint and wax. This medium gives me the freedom to experiment with colour and I am able to scribe into the wax. My work is naïve and my inspiration comes mostly from my three beautiful children, their friends and mine.

Nicky Coady
Nicky Coady's Profile
In a career stretching 20 years, Nicky Coady has travelled a journey of inspiration and transformation, a personal and professional exploration that has stamped its footprint across a lifetime of work.
A well established professional now, Nicky Coady can still recall vividly her first encounters with clay in the early l970's while raising her two children. Away from the confines of an office, she took the opportunity to explore her creativity and artistic interests and by chance, the medium was clay. With memories of her own childhood spent by the hillsides and deepwater natural harbour of Dartmouth, Devon and the remarkable landscape of Zambia, it is hardly surprising that her passion for texture and the organic form was to emerge in early work and to recur throughout her career. For the complete story, Click Here.

Kit Ferry
Kit Ferry's Profile
Kit can be found most days "playing" in her Cherrybrook studio in NSW, where she continues to develop and experiment with glass projects seeking new challenges.
All Kit's working life she has taught in many craft mediums; Clay - Ceramics, Porcelain; Paint - Acrylics/oils, and other types of surface decoration - China Painting, Silk Screening, Embroidery, and glass torch work.
Her extensive knowledge of techniques, products, and firing kilns has been put to good use in pushing the boundaries of Glass- Kit's lifelong love.
Her large portfolio of work contains multicoloured patchwork platters, plates and bowls, Jewellery and intricate fused glass mosaics.
All colours used are contained in the glass. The pictures are designed and come to life with hand cut and placed elements in a myriad of colours. The process is labour intensive and the finished product is not achieved until successfully fused together by the kiln firing.
Kit is now experimenting with porcelain inclusions in her designs, for example the faces in the "Cabaret and Masquerade" series

Peter Kelly
Peter Kelly's Profile
Peter has lived in the area for the past seven years and has only recently started painting again after many years. He likes to depict his works in a cartoon-like manner. He mostly uses acrylic paint and when he frames his work, it is usually done in a simple wooden frame. The frames on all of his works match in style and structure, the intention being that they would further indicate the painting's authenticity! (He's got a few tickets on himself hasn't he?)

Trudi Nisbet
Trudi Nisbet's Profile
My passion for mosaics began with my travels through Europe in the early 1990s and it was when I returned to Sydney that I began exploring my own mosaic creative processes. I have been exhibiting my mosaics for 10 years now, and am now living on the beautiful Hawkesbury River.
I am drawn to the bold and bright, and my designs will often reflect this. I begin my work by sourcing beautiful tiles, ceramics and glass, and it is from this selection that I then create my design.
I like my designs to be simple and uncomplicated, so as to showcase the beauty and richness of the colours and textures within these materials. I get enormous satisfaction and pleasure in creating mosaics from recycled materials, especially when they have once been treasured items of friends.
The art of mosaic is a labour intensive and time consuming process, but at the same time it is a process I find creatively rewarding and therapeutic.

Tory Thomas
Tory Thomas's Profile
Tory Thomas is a Hawksbury based artist and has been painting professionally for around 8 years. She has a visual Communications degree from UTS Sydney.
Her work is influenced by her love of the natural environment. Whilst travelling solo around Australia in an old painted up kombi she found the alchemic properties of solitude and wilderness fertile inspiration for new work.
Her unique oils and mixed media works has a deeply Austalian yet contemporary edge which is reflected in the use of rich colours and earthy tones, and silvery blues.
The works have a certain mystery and life as she paints to different genres of music using the sound to influence line and colour adding further dimension to her dynamic work.
