Janeane lived on the Central Coast during her school years, experiencing life in a richly colourful community and developing a close affinity to the energies of the natural environment. She spent a gap year in the Midlands of England, gaining further experience of people and place, before gaining her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the College of Fine Arts UNSW. She has been for 20 years creating jewellery, which has been represented throughout Sydney and in The Pixie Taylor in Glastonbury, England.
Painting for Janeane is about exploring the journey within the act of creating. She combines her personal experiences with the outer landscape. Janeane is fascinated by the creation of personal and collective myths as well as the energies, both light and dark, that intertwine throughout the Hawkesbury hidden valleys. Things out there are always mirrors of whats going on in here. In the process of letting go you will lose many things from the past but you will find yourself. It will not be a self made of beliefs, expectations, and interpretations, for these things come and go. It will be a permanent Self rooted in awareness and creativity. (Deepak Chopra)
